Imo House of Assembly
Youths of Okigwe Senatorial zone have continued to show their support and loyalty for the programmes and activities of the Imo state House of Assembly led by Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Acho Ihim.
Speaking during a solidarity visit in the Speaker’s office, leader of the representative zonal youths, Mr. Ụzọma Njọkụ from Ehime Mbano Local Government area says, the Imo state Government’s urban beautification programme is a second to none project in the history of Imo state.
Mr. Njọkụ singled out for commendation, the on – going Amarakụ - Aṅara – Atta roads rehabilitation and reconstruction exercise which he described as excellent project of the Owelle Rochas Okorocha’s regime.
According to him the on going projects in Amarakụ have ushered in moments of glory and gladness in the hearts of all well meaning people of Okigwe zone.
He enthused, although the road is a federal one, the Imo state government under Governor Okorocha deemed it necessary to widen it to make room for a positive development of the immediate Okigwe community and to pave the way for an envisaged modernization and urbanization of Amarakụ community.
The youth leader further explained that youths of Okigwe zone were most happy by Imo state government’s decision to re – build the Orie Amarakụ Market which he said was hitherto obsolete and waxing very old; with a view to transforming it to a modern market centre.
He commended the government for its resolve to bring into fruition the Engineering faculty of Imo state university to Ụmuna in Ọnụimo Local Government area – feat he said was “beyond the accomplishments of previous administrations.”
Mr. Ụzọma Njọkụ said youths of Okigwe zone decided to visit Mr. Speaker,, who is also the President, Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, Africa Region, whom they said is, “our own brother,” to express their ecstasy, “because we are aware that all the cogent and verifiable developmental strides being witnessed in Okigwe zone and in Imo state generally were first passed into law before they are carried out.”
Mr. Njọkụ was accompanied on the visit by Messrs Kanụ Kelechukwu, Okigwe LGA, Chukwudi Ifeanyi, Obowo LGA, Iwu Chile, Ihite Uboma LGA and Ogike Chuks from Ọnụimo LGA.
Others are Comrade Lebechi Vitalis, Nnọrọm Akachukwu, Isiala Mbanọ, Anụfọrọ Kennedy and Chukwudᴉ Ọzọemena.
They were received by the SA to the Speaker on Political matters, Chief (Hon.) Okechukwu Ụnam.
