Yobe PDP Chairman dumps party for ruling APC

Barely 48 hours to the commencement of 2019 Nigeria’s general election the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Yobe, Sani Inuwa Nguru, dumps the opposition party to support the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mr Nguru who was led to the Presidential Villa, Abuja, by Mohammed Abuza, a Chieftain of the APC in Yobe, met with President Muhammadu Buhari for some minutes where he pledged his loyalty to the governing party and President Buhari.

Mr Nguru, whose defection is seen to have rattled the opposition PDP going by the last minute defection told State House correspondents that he came to express his loyalty and desire to return home’.

According to him, he was the first chairman of the APC after the merger in the state, adding that “anyone who has been a member of ANPP and CPC is one of Buhari’s loyalist’’.
