…Imo state PDP collects extra N400,000 from Assembly aspirants
The Peoples democratic Party(PDP) national secretariat,Abuja and the state offices are presently a beehive of activities as aspirants for various political positions including delegates get into race to pick the party’s Expression of Interest and the Nomination forms for the primaries and delegates election.
The battle for who flys the Imo state PDP guber flag has shifted to Wadata House,PDP Secretariat in Abuja with Rt.Hon Emeka Ihedioha and Senator Samuel Anyanwu picking theirs almost same time on Tuesday while Bar Chukwuma Ekomaru,SAN picked his form on Wednesday.
Though, the information is sketchy on the duo of Prof Jude Njoku and Senator Athan Achonu but popular opinion suggests that they may pick theirs before Friday as a sign of readiness.
The ex-deputy speaker of the House of Representatives from Aboh-Mbaise,Rt. Hon.Ihedioha was spotted in company of the incumbent House of Representative Member for Owerri federal constituency,Hon Ezenwa Onyewuchi pick form to contest for senate in Imo East.
Moreso, Hon Jones Onyeriri, representing Nkwere,Isu,Njaba and Nwangele federal constituency andHon Thankgod Ezeani were said to have picked for the Imo West senatorial contest.
The duo of Dr, Mrs Ijeoma Nwafor, Hon Kingsley Dimaku picked for the Mbaitolu/Ikeduru and Okigwe South federal constituency respectively where as Hon Mike Iheanaetu and Hon Obinna Onwubuariri have picked to contest Aboh-Mbaise/Ngor-Okpala and Okigwe North respectively.
The State office along Okigwe road,Owerri is not left out as hordes of House Of Assembly aspirants and persons contesting for delegates were seen collecting after having paid the stated amount at the designate bank.
However, investigations by imostateonline showed that the Imo state chapter of PDP was as part of the cost to obtain the form added some levies. According to notice posted aspirants to the position of House of Assembly were to pay one million (N1M) Naira as against the Six hundred thousand (N600,000=) Naira earlier advertised by the national secretariat of the Party.
