Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State on Monday sworn-in the 27 elected Chairmen emerging from the local council election held on Saturday,August 25,2018 in the state.
The winners in the said election were declared on Sunday August 26 in Owerri by the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates taking all the 27 local government executive positions in the state.
The new Council Chairmen were administered the oath of office and oath of secrecy by a representative of the state Chief Judge who is said to be holidaying abroad.
The governor in his address congratulated the Executive Chairman for emerging victory in the said election and charged to work towards developing their various council areas in line with the Rescue Mission Administration policy.
He also informed them that they were expected to live with their people in the local area rather residency outside the area.
The new Chairmen of Council as sworn-in were:Mr Chidi Nwaturuocha(Aboh Mbaise),Mr Adolphus Onuoha(Ahiazu-Mbaise),Mr Nwosu Reginald(Ehime-Mbano), Mrs Chioma Onwumere(Ezinihite-Mbaise) MR Jude Mbachu(Isiala-Mbano), Mr Osuorji Emeka(Ideato-South)
Others are Mrs Joy Ezebuiro(Ideato-North), Mr Metu Chukwunyere(Ikeduru),Mr Bonaventure Okafor(Ihite-Uboma),MrNwadike Chimezie(Isu), Bertrand Mbah(Mbaitolu) and Obinna Chinwe(Ngor Okpala)MrChizoba O.Chizoba(Nwangele), Mr Kenneth Obioha(Njaba) Bar.Mbagwu Augustine(Nkwere) Okezie Paschal( Obowo)Mr Gerald Mgborokwu(Oguta) Mr Amadi Ebenezer( Ohaji Egbema)Clement Onwumere(Okigwe) Mr Augustus Chikezie( Onuimo) and Mr Ikechukwu Onyegbule( Orlu).
The rest are Mr Okonkwo Kingsley( Orsu) Mr Duru Evaristus( Oru East),Mr Udemba Obi( Oru West) Mr Joseph Agor (Owerri Municipal), Vitalis Anyaegbowu( Owerri North), and Oduh Chidi(Owerri West).
Meanwhile the Executive Chairmen were said to have resumed duties and the various Legistive Houses inaugurated having elected their Principal Officers.
