…may unveil Imo state representative soonest
The splinter group in the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) known as Reformed APC according to a source close to a Party chieftain in Imo state has alleged that the coalition group within Imo APC may be heading to the Reformed APC.
The source maintained that the promoters of Reformed APC at the nationals purposely left the Imo state slot in her national steering committee to ascertain where the pendulum would swing due to the litigations over the ward, local government and state congress held by the ruling party in the state.
Meanwhile, the ruling by a federal high court sitting in Owerri and presided over by Justice Lewis Allogoa nullifying the congresses earlier held in the state may have pushed the group to reaching out to the APC coalition in the state.
The Rescue Mission group supported by the Governor of Imo state is perceived to be comfortable with the ruling party having clinched the National Organising Secretary slot and the thursday ruling giving them opportunity to deplore their strength towards taking over the party structure in the state.
On the other hand,Governor Okorocha is said no to be leaving anything unturned as he is using the Mr Macdonald Akano led reconciliation committee earlier set-up by him to reach out to some aggrieved party men for a truce and further strengthen the ruling party in the state ahead 2019 general elections.
The governor according to source is said to be basking on the strength shown by his group through the recent South East mega rally hosted in the state for the re-election of President Muhammudu Buhari and his relationship with the national chairman of APC,Comrade Adams Oshimhole to re-establish himself as the leader of the party in the state and south-east geopolitical zone.
However, a media aide to a governorship aspirant within the APC Coalition group in Imo state who never want his name in print has debunked the alliance with Reformed APC as a ruse. He maintained that the Coalition members are patriotic APC members and would explore all constitutional avenues to get justice as the group heads to appeal.
