Panic envelops Nigerians resident in Italy as the country battles to unravel the masterminds of the gruesome murder of an 18 year-old Italian woman.
The tension generated over the murder has made Nigerians living in the country to walk with fear in the streets of Rome and other cities.
It is alleged that one Innocent Oseghale,a Nigerian murdered and dismembered Pamela Mastropietro, hid the body in two suitcases before dumping them in the countryside outside Pollenza near Macerata in Marche.
The Italian authority is said to have arrested and charged a Nigerian national with the murder of an 18-year-old Italian woman.
According to reports, Oseghale, 29, appeared “confused and not very clear” during questioning in which he denied the charges on Thursday.
Though, the suspect is said to have denied the charges and tried to accuse two other people who police have cleared.
Oseghale according to report is said to be an asylum seeker with a residence permit, which expired last year. He is married and has a daughter.
Also, he is known to have record of drug offenses stays alone in an apartment, not rented in his name and which the Police found 70 grams of hashish, but not heroin during search.
However,Carabinieri forensic police found bloodstained clothes belonging to the victim and other blood traces at the suspect’s home. They also found a receipt from a nearby pharmacy where the victim had bought a syringe, reports said.
