…declares state as seriously infected with a disease

The nomination of Mr Jimi Agbaje as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in lagos for the 2019 general election may have set the ball rolling for the re-anactment of 2015 governorship battle waged between the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) and the major opposition party, PDP.

The declaration of Lagos-born Pharmacist,Mr Agbaje as the candidate for the PDP having secured 1,1oo to beat his close rival Adedeji Doherty who got 742 votes in a primary held at Oregun road,Ikeja on Friday has started causing ripples among APC faithful.

Agbaje is to face,Babajide Sanwo-olu,regarded as the anointed son of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu having supported his emergence in Lagos APC primary against the incumbent governor,Akinwumi Ambode ahead 2019 election.

Agbaje who is battling for the Lagos state governorship seat for the third time is poised to re-anact his capacity in driving the non-indigenes in the state to whittle the influence of the ex-governor, Bola Tinubu.

Speaking on the trust of the people on him in an acceptance speech, Agbaje quipped that his decision to contest for the post was to free Lagos from the disease that has constantly affected its growth.

“There is need for us to free Lagos from the disease that had affected it. In few weeks, I will be explaining that, but the state is seriously infected by a disease.

He stated that to achieve this, he would defeat Sanwo-Olu and other contenders and become next governor of the state.

You may recall that in 2015 governorship election, current governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode narrowly defeated Agbaje .
