PDP plans mass protest nationwide over ‘Police brutality’

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has directed her members nationwide to embark on a mass rally in protest over alleged Police brutality as reported in Ekiti state on wednesday ahead the governorship poll scheduled in that state for Saturday.

The statement as signed by the Party’s National Organising Secretary,Col Austin Akobundu (Rtd) has the support of the PDP’s National Working Committee(NWC) and is to take place simuteneously across the nation terminating at the various Police head quarters in the state and a protest letter to the Inspector General of Police(IGP) handed over.

The statement read:“the National Working Committee has directed that all State Chairmen mobilize former NWC Members, BOT Members/ former Governors, all State Exco Members, Exco Members of the Party at all levels and Stakeholders with our teaming supporters, to embark on peaceful procession to the State Police Command in their respective States to protest the police brutality that happened today in Ekiti State.

“the protest march must begin by 10AM simultaneously across the Nation.All State Chapters are to deliver a protest letter to the Inspector General Of Police through the Commissioner of Police”.The statement concludes
