The race for the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) ticket for Owerri senatorial zone has come and gone with a seasoned banker and Financial expert,Mike Nwachukwu picking the ticket.
The Owerri North technocrat recorded a landslide victory securing 150 votes out of the total while Mr George Irechukwu, former Commissioner for Finance in Imo state came second with 37 votes.
The primary election adjudged free and fair by all the observers and party faithful saw the Assisstant Inspector General of Police, Charles Ugomuoh pick 17 votes with Mr Igbokwe Ibekwe having 4 votes.
Speaking on the outcome of the primary election held at the Aladinma mall in Owerri, Mr Mike Nwachukwu commended all the aspirants for their participation while assuring of his readiness to work cooperatively towards a result oriented representation at the nation’s red chamber.
He called on all persons from Imo East senatorial district to kick start the campaign for the victory of APGA in the coming elections amid praises to the Party Exectives and the stakeholders.
