The division in All Progressives Congress(APC) in Imo state widens by the day as the House of Assembly on Wednesday suspended four law makers loyal to the state deputy governor and who were seen to have worked against Governor Rochas Okorocha’s interest in the recent party congress and national convention.
The suspension followed a motion brought to the floor of house by the House majority leader,Hon Luggard Osuji representing the Owerri municipal state constituency with speaker Acho Ihim presiding and the four law makers accused of engaging in ‘unparliamentary conducts’.
The four suspended law makers are Hon Ifeanyi Nnatoronye,Mbaitolu state constituency, Hon,Bar Ogwumike,Ikeduru constituency, Hon Kenna Nzeruo,Oru-East constituency, and Hon Collins Chiji,Isiala Mbano constituency.
The presiding speaker,Ihim ignored efforts made by one of the accused law maker, Hon Chiji,to speak as his notification through raising hands to defend himself was ignored by the speaker who moved on constituting a committee headed by Hon Lawman Duruji representing Ehime Mbano to look into the activities of the four suspended law maker.
Meanwhile, the reactions of the citizenries have continued to differ as some who were on governor Okorocha’s side in the battle applauds same while some saw it as intimidation and lacking in merit.
However, feelers have continued to emerge linking the suspension to a hatched plan targeted at impeaching the state deputy governor,Prince eze Madumere, an arrow head in the fight to recover the control of the ruling party from governor okorocha.
