Bishop Okorocha retires as Maduike takes over

…New bishop may emerge soon

The Anglican bishop of Owerri diocese,Rt.Rev. Cyril Okorocha, is expected to leave the diocese after 25 years of active service in the Lord’s vineyard.

The Bishop’s retirement is planned to follow his 70th birthday thanksgiving service on tuesday june 12,2018 at the Anglican Cathederal,Owerri scheduled to start at 2 p.m.

He would at the end of the service proceeds to his retirement home with the Bishop of Ikeduru diocese Emma Maduike appointed as an Administrator to oversee the affairs of the diocese pending the appointment of a new bishop for the diocese.

You may recall that the process leading to the appointment of a new bishop for the diocese had ran into a hitch with the parties seeking for judicial protection.

Meanwhile, the retiring Nekede Owerri-West born bishop was consecrated bishop at the Cathederal Church,Oshogbo,Osun state on December 13,1998 and served God shepherding the diocesan congregation for 20 years.
