…oyegun calls for hardwork to build APC
Mass exodus may hit Governor Rochas Okorocha’s camp in the coming days following the successful inauguration of Hillary Ekeh led Imo state Executive of the ruling All Progressives Congress by the out-going national working Committee led by ex-governor John Oyegun.
The inauguration which held in Abuja on Monday,june 4,2015 amid celebrations by the governor’s political opponents christened’Allied forces’ jolted Governor Okorocha’s political family who were busy propagating court injunction restraining the national chairman from taking further action including inauguration.
The governor who was visibly touched by the present political arrangement that suggesting a takeover of the party structure quickly left for Abuja immediately after the swearing-in of two new members of the State Executive and the two Transition Committee chairmen for Ehime-mbano and Mbaitolu local government area.
Meanwhile, the new inaugurated state party chairman is said to hit the state today,tuesday,to carry out his first assignment by swearing-in the rest members of the state executives and the LGA/Ward Executives.
Indeed, keen observers of the political landscape in Imo State are now watching on how the two camps in Imo state will carry their trade realising that the Chris Oguoma led exco installed by the state governor were the group occupying the state Party secretariat.
The national Chairman, Oyegun had during the inauguration in Abuja charged the state chairmen including Mr Hillary Ekeh to work diligently to return the APC to a glorious path.
He states:“You have the onerous task maturing APC. You have to work hard to return the party to its lost glory. Also make sure you work hard for the reelection of our President.
“We are aware of conflicts, disaffection and bad blood in the party. Put all these aside and work for the victory of our party at the 2019 general elections.
“Go and tell the people of the great achievements recorded by the APC Government. Your Government is on the right course. A firm foundation has been laid for the development of Nigeria in spite of lean resources, the APC has achieved much in three years.
“Get acquainted with the achievements put together in a document which I will make available to you. Tell Nigerians the achievements of your government. In infrastructure; a lot of roads have been constructed, agriculture; much rice is produced, transport, rail is there and power we now have 7000 megawatts.Oyegun concludes.
