…LG Congress shifted to Monday
The residents of Owerri, capital of Imo state woke up Saturday to behold a protest match round the capital men suspected to be from state government calling on the national leadership of All Progressives Congress(APC) to cancel the May5, 2018 ward congress in the state for a new one.
The protesters were led by Comrade Jeff Nwoha and Mr Frank Onuoha,both appointees of Governor Rochas Okorocha’s government in the Environmental Transformation Commission(ENTRACO) and Imo Security Watch respectively..
The protesters had placards with inscriptions like Osita Izunaso. –Imo Youths needs Ward Congress result sheets” and others, vowing to continue with their agitation until a new Ward congress is held.
They condemned the attitude of some persons applauding the ward congress reiterating that there was no congress in Imo state.
Meanwhile,the APC stakeholders in Imo state were at present apportioning blames over who played what role.
You may recall that the state headquarters of APC by Works layout,Imo State University junction,Owerri was on Friday May,11,2018 set ablaze by hoodlums, and some office materials burnt beyond in the process.
The state chairman, Mr Hillary Ekeh,in a determined move to consolidate the party ahead 2019 general elections issues a press release to the public reminding party faithful that the rescheduled congress will hold on Monday,14,2018.
