Samdaddy equips Skill devet.centre in Owerri zone

The Senator representing Owerri Zone in the Senate, and PDP governorship aspirant in Imo state, Senator Samuel (Samdaddy) Anyanwu has continued his empowerment programme attracting leather shoe equipment for the use of constituency.

The leather shoe making equipment coming from the Nigeria Institute of Leather science and technology, Nilest,Zaria is to be deplored to the Skill Acquisition Centre in Oburu-Ogwa in Mbaitolu local government Area.

Speaking during the handover of the Industrial sewing equipment for leather shoe and bags making to the traditional ruler,President General and indigenes of Ogwa Community, Senator Anyanwu said that he attracted the machines from the Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology - Nilest, Zaria upon realization that the gigantic skill acquisition centre attracted by his predecessor to the people of Ogwa in Mbaitoli LGA was not functional due to lack of industrial machines. He said that the machines when put to use will empower young men and women of the community and Owerri zone in sustainable skills and further reduce unemployment.


Continuing the PDP governorship hopeful reminded the people that sustainable skill encourages wealth creation and further build the populace especially with the growing unemployment in the country. The trainees from the centre could deplore their skill both local and international, and more, improve the living condition of their households.

You may recall that the centre was attracted by ex-Senator Christy Anyanwu during her tenure at the red chamber but owing to the poor road network was abandoned but the recent donation of equipment to the centre through the Ikeduru-born Senator, Samdaddy would see the centre be in use of the citizenries.

Moreso, the Senator pledged to put the road to use soonest as he deplores earth movers and trucks to work while condemning every acts leading to project abandonment. He emphasized that in his time time every project that have direct impact on the citizenries must attract greater attention to completion and use.

In his speech Bar Charles Olumba, President General, Oburu Ogwa community commended Sen Samdaddy for his achievements in the senate noting that the Chiarman,Senate committee on ethics and priviledges is exemplary and promised the support of Oburu-Ogwa to the realization of the centre’s designed goal
