Tension engulfs Imo State Government House, Owerri, following an order from on a state High Court sitting in the state capital on tuesday stopped the swearing-in ceremony of the  deputy governor-designate, Callistus Ekenze.

The deputy governor designate,Calistus Ekenze, who arrived the venue with his supporters earlier in the day with other state government functionaries were visibly disappointed as the court ordered the state Chief Judge not to proceed with the swearing-in ceremony.

Nlemadium informed the audience of a court order made by Owerri High Court on tuesday morning stopping the CJ from swearing-in the deputy governor-designate.

Our investigation showed that the CJ told the governor that he would not swear in the deputy governor-designate as long as there was a court order restraining him from doing so.

The Chief Judge is said to have asked the governor to vacate the order to swear-in Ekenze as the new deputy governor.

The attorney general assured the guests not to despair as the government had filed all legal process to set aside the court order.

Meanwhile, the impeached deputy governor,Eze Madumere is said to have instituted a suit on tuesday challenging his earlier impeachment and the swearing-in of Calistus Ekenze making for the interim order stopping the swearing-in ceremony.
