Senate suspends controversial poll re-odering bill

Following the invasion of her chamber during planary on Wednesday and taking away of the maze,symbol of authority of parliamente,the members of the senate has suspended the controversial bill before her seeking to re-order the sequence of election in Nigeria.

The bill, which was considered for second reading, suffered a setback with several lawmakers across party lines in the course of its debate raising various issues against the amendment.

The bill has been stepped down, and referred to the Senate Committee on Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) with a mandate to remove the clauses faulted by President Muhammadu Buhari, for which he withdrew his assent.

The Lawmakers resolved to transmit parts of the Electoral Act 2010 Amendment bill not faulted by the President for assent.
