Ex Gov. Obi doles out a Million Naira lifeline to Imo School

 FORMER Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi recently donated a Million naira to Imo School for infrastructural upgrade.

The ex-governor whose arrival was heralded by the Administrator and the students of  Mercy Secondary School, Okigwe charged the institution to uphold academic excellence as he  reinforced on the students the need to be focused in their pursuit.

Moreso,he explained the importance of education as the most portent tool for tomorrow’s competition.

 “The world is becoming increasingly competitive”, he told them, “and only the properly equipped through education can conquer all odds.”  

While calling on wealthy Nigerians to see support towards educational advancement as worthwhile he vowed to continue with the support to the development of education in the country and even beyond.

Continuing, he quipped that a support to education is infinitely better than spending millions in leaving Epicurean life or organizing unnecessarily high burials as is increasingly witnessed in the country today.

 In his response,the Principal of the School, Rev.   Fr.   Dr. Donatus Ekenachi commended Mr Obi for his love for education, and his willingness towards promoting same for the good of the children charging him never to relent..

He went on appealing to Mr Obi to  always remember the school.

 You may recall that the ex governor took to promoting education across the country and beyond since leaving office in 2014.
